Renato Neto (born 27 September 1991 in Camacan) is a Brazilian footballer who can play as an midfielder. He is currently playing for Sporting Clube de Portugal.
Renato Neto started his career in a small team based in Santa Catarina, Academia Catarinense de Futebol, where he was spotted by Benfica scouting team. However, this experience did not prove to be successful, which lead him to Sporting. At Sporting's Academy, Renato Neto was part of Sporting's junior team that became champions three times in a row, scoring some decisive goals, such as one during last matchday against FC Porto. In addition, he was also called up for several main squad matches: during 2008-2009 season, on May 24, the last matchday, against Nacional, where he made his first team debut, coming on as Derlei's substitute in the 86th minute; and during 2009-2010 season, on May 8, once again the last matchday, this time against Leixões, coming on as Matías Fernández's replacement in the 89th minute.
After graduating from Sporting's Academy, Renato Neto was loaned out to Cercle Brugge, alongside Nuno Reis.[1]
On December 2011, Renato returned to Sporting because of his good appearences for Cercle Brugge last season and the beginning of this one, the other reason why Renato was called back from Sporting was because Sporting was facing a injury crisis in the midfield zone.
